Overview
JotForm Tables review
This Jotform Tables review covers what the tool is used for, its key features, Jotform pricing and submission limits, how it compares with Airtable and other tools, and where it falls short. Jotform Tables is the data side of Jotform, the drag and drop online form builder that businesses use to create professional forms without coding. Every form you build gets a table, and each submission lands as a row. You can also start a blank table, import a CSV or Excel file, or type data in by hand. From there you sort, filter, group and edit the data, switch between views, and share the table with your team. Jotform Tables is free and available on every Jotform plan, so the real limits come from the plan's submission and storage caps, not from Tables itself.
What is Jotform Tables used for?
Jotform Tables is used for managing data that starts in forms, so data collection and the work that follows happen on one platform. Users create a table to collect data from an online form and manage it in the same place. Typical uses are order and payment tracking, event registrations, job applications and recruitment pipelines, customer feedback, support requests, inventory lists, and simple CRMs. Schools use it for student appointments and intake; small businesses use it to follow up on leads and orders without copying responses into a spreadsheet.
The strength is the connection with the form builder. Because data collection and data management live in one place, a new form response appears in the table the moment it is submitted. Teams can then assign rows to colleagues, change a status, and send an email or a prefilled form from the same row. For small teams that already use Jotform for online forms, this replaces a separate spreadsheet and a lot of copy and paste, and customers never see the table unless you share access.
Key features
- Table, card, calendar and report views: look at the same data as a grid, as cards with uploaded files, on a calendar, or as a report with charts.
- Multiple forms in one table: connect several forms to a single table, so responses from different forms can be reviewed together (Jotform blog).
- Formulas, lookups, rollups and counters: calculate values in a column, pull data from a connected table, and summarize linked records, much like a relational database.
- Ready-made column types: dropdowns, multiple selection, checkboxes, dates, files, ratings and more, so you can manage your data without coding.
- Action buttons: send an email, send a form with prefilled data, create a PDF, or pass the row to other apps with one click.
- Assign and collaborate: assign rows to team members, share a table by invitation link or email, and choose who can view or edit it. Access can be public, private or limited to your company.
- Jotform Data Assistant: an AI assistant that can create tables, add columns, summarize data and generate charts from a prompt (Jotform Tables).
- Conditional logic and form features: the forms that feed a table support conditional logic, payments, signatures and widgets, so users only see the fields they need.
- Templates: 300+ table templates for things like a sales CRM, social media calendar, issue tracker or inventory list.
- Import and export: import CSV or Excel files, and download some or all rows as CSV, Excel or PDF.
- Payment data: see incomplete or declined payments from payment forms and complete them manually.
Jotform pricing: from the free plan to Jotform Enterprise
Jotform Tables has no separate price. It is included in every Jotform plan, from the free Starter plan up to Enterprise. According to the Jotform pricing page (September 2026), the plans are:
- Starter (free plan): $0. 5 forms, 100 monthly submissions, 500 stored submissions, 100 MB upload space, 10 payment submissions a month, Jotform branding.
- Bronze: $39 billed monthly, or $34 a month billed annually. 25 forms, 1,000 monthly submissions, 10,000 stored submissions, 1 GB upload space.
- Silver: $49 billed monthly, or $39 a month billed annually. 50 forms, 2,500 monthly submissions, 25,000 stored submissions, 10 GB.
- Gold: $129 billed monthly, or $99 a month billed annually. 100 forms, 10,000 monthly submissions, 100,000 stored submissions, 100 GB, and HIPAA compliance features.
- Jotform Enterprise: custom pricing with unlimited limits, multiple users, single sign on, admin controls, data residency options and dedicated support. Jotform Enterprise suits larger organizations that need central access control for many users and customers' data.
The usage metric is submissions. Monthly submissions count every response collected or imported that month, and total submission storage is the number of rows you can keep. The cost surprise to check is that imported rows count too: importing a large spreadsheet into Tables uses the same allowance as form responses, so the free plan's 500 stored submissions fill up fast. Each plan also has separate caps on forms, uploads and payment submissions, and hitting any one of them means an upgrade. HIPAA features need the Gold or Enterprise plans and a signed Business Associate Agreement.
Every plan also includes Jotform AI Agents, which answer questions and collect data by chat or voice: 5 active agents on the free plan, 25 on Bronze, 50 on Silver and 100 on the Gold plan. A dedicated phone number for an AI agent is a paid add-on. Jotform offers the agents on the same account as your forms and tables.
Jotform Tables vs Airtable
Jotform Tables and Airtable both give you a spreadsheet interface with database features: views, formulas, lookups, rollups and sharing. The difference is the starting point. Jotform Tables starts from forms: payment forms, signature forms, appointment forms, conditional logic and form widgets come with it, and Jotform lists 100+ direct integrations (Jotform vs Airtable). Airtable starts from the database: it has more view types, a stronger automation engine, interfaces for building internal apps and a larger ecosystem of extensions. Both have a free plan, and both offer templates to create a first table fast. Choose Jotform Tables when most of your data arrives through forms. Choose Airtable when the table itself is the app and forms are only one input.
Where Jotform Tables shines — and where it falls short
Strengths:
- Form responses flow straight into a shared table, with no copy and paste.
- Free on every plan, with unlimited tables.
- Payment, signature and appointment data sit next to the rest of your data.
- Action buttons and assignments turn a table into a light workflow tool for small businesses.
Trade-offs:
- Limits follow Jotform's submission caps, so large data sets need a paid plan.
- Fewer view types and automations than a dedicated database such as Airtable.
- Built around Jotform; data from other tools arrives mainly by import or integration.
- Complex internal apps with interfaces and roles are better served by an app builder.
How Jotform Tables compares
- Airtable: a relational database with interfaces and automations; stronger as an app backend.
- Google Sheets: a free spreadsheet for analysis, without typed columns or form-linked rows.
- Baserow and NocoDB: open-source spreadsheet-databases you can self-host.
- Smartsheet: spreadsheet-based work management for larger teams.
- Knack: a database with a built-in app and portal builder.
- Google Forms, Cognito Forms and Formstack: form builders to compare if forms are the main need.
Is Jotform Tables worth it?
Jotform Tables is worth it if you already collect data with Jotform and want to manage responses as a team without exporting them. It costs nothing extra, it works on the free plan with the same Tables features as paid plans but lower limits, and features like formulas, rollups and action buttons cover most small business needs. It is less of a fit when you need a database first, many view types, heavy automation or a large number of rows on a small budget; then Airtable, Baserow or Google Sheets may suit you better. If you want help building forms and workflows around your data, the low-code agencies and developers on LowCodeDevs can take it on.
