Overview

Salesloft review

This Salesloft review covers what Salesloft is used for, its core features, how Salesloft pricing works, what the 2025 merger with Clari changed, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with other tools. Salesloft is a sales engagement platform: reps work from one place where cadences tell them who to email, call or message next, calls are recorded and analysed, and deals and forecasts sit on top of the connected CRM. Since December 2025 Salesloft and Clari are one combined company under the Salesloft brand, led by CEO Steve Cox, and Clari's forecasting lives on as Clari Forecast inside the Salesloft platform (Salesloft newsroom).

What is Salesloft used for?

Sales teams and revenue teams use Salesloft to run a repeatable sales process from first touch to closing deals. Sales development reps build pipeline with cold outreach: multi-channel sequences of emails, calls and LinkedIn tasks that automate follow ups and keep sales activity consistent. Account executives use it for deal management, call recording and next steps, and managers use conversation intelligence for coaching and forecasts for planning. Revenue teams connect it to their CRM so that every buyer interaction is logged without manual data entry.

Salesloft is built for mid-sized and larger sales teams with a defined outbound motion, where sales engagement, coaching and forecasting sit with different teams and a CRM such as Salesforce, HubSpot or Microsoft Dynamics. Small teams that mainly send cold email campaigns usually find it more than they need, and the Salesloft cost is hard to justify for a handful of reps.

Key features

  • Cadence: outreach automation with multi-channel sequences of emails, calls and social steps, with daily task lists that tell each rep the next best actions.
  • Deals: deal management and sales pipeline views that show deal health, risk and activity per opportunity, fed by the connected CRM.
  • Conversations: call recording, transcripts and conversation intelligence for coaching reps on real customer interactions.
  • Clari Forecast: forecasting and revenue predictions from the Clari side of the combined company.
  • Drift: conversational marketing and chat for inbound buyers on your website.
  • Rhythm and AI tools: AI powered sales engagement: prioritisation that turns signals into a ranked list of actions, plus AI help with writing emails.
  • CRM integrations: two-way sync with Salesforce, HubSpot and Microsoft Dynamics, plus a marketplace of other integrations.
  • Governance and security controls: admin permissions, compliance settings and data controls for larger organisations.

Salesloft pricing and plans

Salesloft does not publish prices. Its pricing page sends buyers to sales for a quote, and plans are sold on annual contracts. Pricing depends on team size, which products you add (Conversations, Deals, Forecast, Drift) and contract length. There is no free plan, and competitor reviews report no self-serve free trial (lemlist, a competitor).

The cost surprise to check is what sits outside the core seat. Lemlist's review reports that the dialer is a paid add-on, and conversation intelligence and forecasting are separate products in the platform. Ask for a quote that lists every product your team needs, the minimum number of seats and the renewal terms before you sign.

Conversation intelligence and coaching

Conversations records, transcribes and analyses sales calls and meetings, so managers can coach on real customer interactions instead of guesses. Reps get call summaries and next steps after each meeting, and managers see talk ratios, topics and patterns across the team. Combined with Deals, the same data shows which deals are moving and where a deal is at risk, and Clari Forecast turns it into a view of future outcomes for the quarter. This is the part of the platform that makes Salesloft a revenue tool rather than only an email sender, and it is also where the cost grows, because it is sold as its own product.

Cold outreach, sequences and deliverability

For outbound teams, Salesloft is a way to run personalized outreach at scale: multichannel sequences combine email, calls and LinkedIn steps, reps work through them from one daily list, and follow ups happen on time without manual tracking. AI tools help draft emails and pick the next prospect to contact, which keeps outbound activity high without losing focus on the best leads. Salesloft does not warm up mailboxes itself. Teams that send a lot of cold email use a separate warm up tool and domain setup to protect sender reputation and inbox placement, and they track meetings booked and conversion rates rather than emails sent. For pure cold email volume, dedicated cold email tools are cheaper; Salesloft earns its place when sales teams need calls, coaching and deals in the same workflow.

The Clari and Salesloft merger

Clari and Salesloft announced their merger in 2025 and completed it on December 3, 2025. The combined company operates as Salesloft, with Steve Cox as CEO, and brings Cadence, Deals, Conversations, Drift, Rhythm and Clari Forecast into one platform (Salesloft). The idea is one revenue system: Salesloft for sales engagement and activity, Clari for forecasting and revenue predictions. Both product lines are still sold. For buyers this means one vendor for engagement and forecasting, but also a roadmap that is still being merged, so ask which products are included and how they integrate today.

Salesloft vs Salesforce and Outreach

Salesloft is not a CRM. Salesforce stores accounts, contacts and opportunities. Salesloft sits on top of that CRM and handles the daily outreach, calls and coaching, then writes the activity back. Most Salesloft customers run both. Outreach is the closest direct competitor: both are sales engagement platforms with sequences, a dialer, conversation intelligence and forecasting, so the choice usually comes down to price, CRM integration and which workflow reps prefer. Test both with a real team before you sign.

Where Salesloft shines — and where it falls short

Strengths:

  • Strong multi-channel cadences with a clear daily workflow for reps.
  • Engagement, conversation intelligence and forecasting in one platform since the Clari merger.
  • Deep CRM integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Built for larger teams with admin, security and governance controls.

Trade-offs:

  • No public pricing, annual contracts and add-ons that raise the total cost.
  • A learning curve for reps and admins, and CRM setup is needed for advanced features.
  • No built-in email warm-up, so sender reputation and inbox placement need other tools.
  • The merged product roadmap is still settling.

How Salesloft compares

  • HubSpot: HubSpot Sales Hub combines CRM and sequences, simpler for small teams.
  • Pipedrive: a pipeline-first CRM with lighter automation for small sales teams.
  • Attio: a flexible, modern CRM for startups that want to build their own workflows.
  • Outreach, Apollo and Gong: direct competitors for sales engagement, prospecting data and conversation intelligence (no LowCodeDevs pages yet).

Is Salesloft worth it?

Salesloft is worth it for B2B sales organisations with a real outbound motion, a CRM and enough reps that consistent cadences, coaching and forecasting pay back the contract. After the Clari merger it covers more of the revenue process in one platform. It is harder to justify for small teams, founder-led sales or teams that mainly send cold email, where HubSpot Sales Hub or a lighter tool costs far less. If you want help connecting Salesloft to your CRM or automating the processes around it, the low-code agencies and developers on LowCodeDevs can take it on.

Questions

Salesloft FAQ

What does Salesloft do?

Salesloft is a sales engagement platform. It runs multi-channel cadences of emails, calls and social steps, records and analyses calls, manages deals and, since the Clari merger, forecasts revenue.

How much does Salesloft cost per month?

Salesloft does not publish prices. Plans are quote-only on annual contracts, and the cost depends on the number of seats and which products, such as the dialer or Conversations, you add.

What company owns Salesloft?

Salesloft and Clari merged on December 3, 2025. The combined company operates under the Salesloft brand with Steve Cox as CEO.

Why did Clari and Salesloft merge?

To combine sales engagement (Salesloft) with forecasting and revenue predictions (Clari) in one platform that the companies call a predictive revenue system.

How is Salesloft different from Salesforce?

Salesforce is a CRM that stores customer and deal data. Salesloft sits on top of the CRM and handles outreach, calls, coaching and forecasting, then syncs the activity back.

Is Outreach better than Salesloft?

Neither is better for every team. Both are sales engagement platforms with sequences, a dialer, conversation intelligence and forecasting; compare price, CRM integration and how reps like the daily workflow in a trial with your own team.

Does Salesloft have AI features?

Yes. Rhythm ranks the next best actions for each rep from buyer signals, AI helps write emails and summarise calls, and Clari Forecast predicts revenue.

What is better than Salesloft?

For large sales teams, Outreach is the closest alternative. For small teams, HubSpot Sales Hub, Pipedrive or Apollo usually cost less and are easier to set up.
