Pipedrive
Sales CRM built around a visual pipeline of leads and deals
Pipedrive is a sales CRM for small and midsize teams that tracks leads and deals in a visual pipeline and automates follow-ups.
Overview
Pipedrive review
This Pipedrive review covers what the CRM software is used for, its key features, Pipedrive pricing and add-ons, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with other CRM tools. Pipedrive CRM is customer relationship management software built for one job: helping sales teams move sales opportunities through a sales pipeline and close more deals. Each deal is a card on a board. Sales reps drag it from stage to stage, log calls and emails against it, and schedule the next activity so no follow-up is missed. Around that core, Pipedrive offers email sync, workflow automations, reports, an AI sales assistant and a marketplace of apps. There is no free plan, but every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial.
What is Pipedrive used for?
Pipedrive CRM is used for lead management and deal management, from first lead to closed deal, so all customer data and sales data sit in one place. Typical users are small businesses, agencies, consultancies, SaaS companies and B2B service firms with a dedicated sales team or a founder who sells. Sales managers use it to see every open deal, the value in each stage and which rep is behind on follow-ups. Sales reps use it as their daily to-do list: the activity view shows the calls, emails and meetings due today.
Pipedrive is a CRM, not an ERP. It does not handle invoicing, stock or accounting; for that it connects to other apps. It is also a sales-first tool rather than an all-in-one marketing suite. Email marketing, lead generation and project management exist as add-ons, but the product is strongest at closing deals through activity-based selling. For small businesses choosing the right CRM software, that focus is the main reason to pick it over broader CRM solutions.
Key features
- Visual sales pipeline: unlimited pipelines with custom stages. Deals move with drag and drop functionality, and each card shows value, owner and next activity.
- Leads and deals: a separate Leads Inbox keeps unqualified leads out of the pipeline until a rep converts them into deals.
- Contact management: managing contacts and organizations with a full timeline of emails, calls, notes and files, plus custom fields and duplicate merging to keep CRM data quality high.
- Email sync and tracking: two-way sync with Gmail and Outlook, email templates, open and click tracking, and scheduled sending (Growth plan and up).
- Workflow automations: sales automation for your sales workflows. Trigger actions on deal stages, field changes or dates to automate repetitive tasks such as follow-up activities, assignments and emails. Pipedrive offers dozens of automation templates, and the number of active automations grows with the plan.
- Reports and dashboards: generate reports with customizable reports on deals, activities, revenue forecasts and rep performance; the richer dashboards sit on the Premium and Ultimate plans.
- AI sales assistant: the Pipedrive AI sales assistant suggests the next best action, summarizes deals and drafts emails, so the sales process moves without manual digging.
- Integrations: an open API, native Google and Microsoft 365 integrations, Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and more than 400 marketplace apps, including Google apps. Zapier and Make cover the rest.
- Mobile apps: iOS and Android apps with calls, notes and pipeline management on the go.
Pipedrive pricing and CRM pricing plans
Pipedrive's pricing is per user (per seat) per month. EmailToolTester's pricing guide (March 2026) lists these plans, and SaaSSwitcher confirmed the Premium price on Pipedrive's pricing page on 14 September 2026:
- Lite plan: $14 billed annually, $24 monthly. Pipeline management, contact timeline and integrations.
- Growth plan: $39 annually, $49 monthly. Adds email sync and tracking, the product catalog and workflow automations.
- Premium plan: $59 annually, $79 monthly. Adds advanced reporting, visibility groups and eSignatures.
- Ultimate plan: $79 annually, $99 monthly. Adds unlimited permission sets, account management and phone support.
There is no free plan. The 14-day free trial covers every feature and needs no credit card. Annual billing saves roughly 20% to 40% against monthly billing, depending on the plan.
The cost surprise to check is the add-ons. LeadBooster (chatbot, live chat and web forms) starts at about $32.50 a month, Campaigns (email marketing) runs from $16 to $417 a month by contact volume, and Web Visitors costs $49 to $299 a month. Projects and Smart Docs (quotes, contracts and document management) are paid extras too, and Campaigns is what you need for email marketing campaigns. Add the per-user price for every seat and a small team can pay twice the headline figure. Some older guides still show $49 for Premium; the current price is $59, so check the pricing page before you budget.
Pipedrive CRM vs HubSpot, Zoho CRM and Salesforce
Pipedrive or HubSpot is the most common question. HubSpot has a free CRM and a much wider marketing suite, but its paid Sales Hub and Marketing Hub tiers get expensive quickly. Pipedrive has no free plan, yet it is simpler to learn and cheaper per user for a team that only needs sales pipeline management. Zoho CRM is cheaper for small businesses on a budget, but its interface takes longer to learn. Pipedrive is similar to Salesforce in purpose, but not in scope: Salesforce is an enterprise platform with deep customization, while Pipedrive trades that depth for a CRM tool a small business can set up in a day.
Customer support and getting started with Pipedrive
Import contacts and deals from a spreadsheet or another CRM, then define your pipeline stages to match how your team actually sells. Add custom fields only for data you will use in reports. Connect email and calendar first, then add workflow automations for the follow ups your reps forget most often. Customer support differs by plan. According to TechRadar and business.com, every plan gets 24/7 email and chatbot help and a knowledge base, live chat support starts on Premium, and phone support is part of Ultimate. Personalized onboarding is offered on the higher plans. Pipedrive has no separate enterprise plans; Ultimate is the top tier.
Where Pipedrive shines — and where it falls short
Strengths:
- A clean, visual sales pipeline that sales reps adopt quickly.
- Activity-based selling keeps follow-up discipline high.
- Workflow automations and email sync save hours of manual data entry.
- Large app marketplace, an open API and solid automation capabilities for the price.
Trade-offs:
- No free plan, and add-ons raise the real cost.
- Marketing tools are basic compared with all-in-one platforms.
- Reporting depth and permissions sit on the pricier plans.
- Phone support is reserved for the top tier.
How Pipedrive compares
- HubSpot: free CRM plus a full marketing suite; better for inbound marketing teams.
- Attio: a flexible, data-first CRM for startups and investors.
- Zoho: Zoho CRM is cheaper per user, has a free plan for small teams, and is part of a large business suite.
- Salesloft: sales engagement and cadences on top of a CRM, for larger outbound teams.
- Creatio: no-code CRM and process automation for enterprises.
- ActiveCampaign: email marketing platform with a built-in sales CRM.
Is Pipedrive worth it?
Pipedrive CRM is worth it for small businesses and sales teams that want a focused CRM to manage deals and never miss a follow-up. It is quick to adopt, Pipedrive offers enough automation for a lean sales process, and the Growth plan covers most small businesses. It is less of a fit when you want free CRM software, heavy marketing automation or enterprise-grade customization; HubSpot or Salesforce may suit better there. If you want help setting up pipelines, automations or integrations, the CRM consultants and low-code agencies on LowCodeDevs can take it on.
