Zoho

Business software suite: CRM, 45+ apps and the Zoho Creator low-code platform

Other · CRM

Zoho is a suite of business apps, from Zoho CRM to Zoho One and the Zoho Creator low-code platform, for small businesses and growing teams.

Overview

Zoho review

This Zoho review looks at the suite as a whole, with a focus on what matters for low-code builders: Zoho One, Zoho CRM and Zoho Creator. Zoho sells more than 45 products for sales, marketing, finance, HR, customer service, project management and collaboration, and they share one account, one directory and one data layer. You can buy a single app, such as Zoho CRM, or the whole bundle as Zoho One, which Zoho calls the operating system for business. Zoho Creator is the low-code platform underneath, used to build custom apps that connect to the rest of the suite.

What is Zoho used for?

Small businesses use Zoho to manage the whole business from one suite instead of a stack of separate tools. Typical setups run sales in Zoho CRM, email in Zoho Mail, accounting in Zoho Books, projects in Zoho Projects and HR processes in Zoho People, with the data flowing between them. The sales team tracks deals and contacts, each department sees its own tasks, and management gets insights across the business. Finance teams use Zoho Books and Zoho Billing for invoices, estimates and subscriptions; marketing teams use Zoho Campaigns and Marketing Automation; customer service teams use Zoho Desk. Collaboration tools such as Zoho Cliq, Zoho Meeting to meet online and Zoho WorkDrive for documents help the team collaborate.

Zoho Creator is used when no standard app fits: order management, field inspections, approval workflows, vendor portals or an internal tool that reads and writes data in Zoho CRM. Business users create these apps with drag and drop to automate operations and streamline workflows, and developers extend them with Deluge, Zoho's own scripting language.

Key features

  • Zoho One: one subscription for 45+ apps, including CRM, Books, Desk, Projects, People, Mail, WorkDrive and Analytics, with single sign-on and a shared admin panel.
  • Zoho CRM: leads, contacts, accounts and deals, pipelines, workflow automation, forecasting and the Zia AI assistant. Fields, layouts and workflows can be customized per team.
  • Zoho Creator: a low-code platform to create apps with forms, reports and pages, workflows, and web and mobile apps from one build.
  • Deluge scripting: a scripting language that works across every Zoho app, for logic that drag and drop cannot express.
  • Integrations: built-in links between Zoho products, plus connectors and APIs for Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Slack and other apps.
  • Analytics: Zoho Analytics pulls data from every app into dashboards and reports.
  • Data security and privacy: Zoho states that it does not sell customer data or show ads, and runs its own data centers.
  • Automation: workflow rules, schedules and blueprints that automate tasks across the suite and scale with the business.

Zoho pricing

Zoho prices each app separately, and Zoho One bundles them. Zoho's own pricing pages change the currency and price by country, so from Europe they show euros. The US prices below come from Zenatta's 2026 guide, a Zoho partner, and the list prices quoted by third-party guides in September 2026:

  • Zoho One: about $37 per employee per month billed annually on the All Employee plan, where every employee on payroll must be licensed, or about $90 per user per month on the Flexible User plan.
  • Zoho CRM: a free edition for up to 3 users; paid editions at about $14 on the Standard plan, $23 (Professional), $40 (Enterprise) and $52 (Ultimate) per user per month, billed annually.
  • Zoho Creator: a free edition for one app; paid plans at about $8 (Standard), $20 (Professional) and $25 (Enterprise) per user per month, billed annually.

Monthly billing costs more than annual billing on every plan. Most apps offer a free trial.

The cost surprise to check is the All Employee rule in Zoho One: the low price only applies if you license every employee, not just the people who use the apps. Add-ons such as extra storage, extra records or advanced AI are billed on top, and the price per app can differ by region.

Zoho Creator: the low-code platform

Zoho Creator is the part of Zoho that matters most for a low-code directory. You design forms and data models visually, set up workflows and approvals, and publish the same app to the web, iOS and Android. Deluge scripts handle calculations, integrations and custom logic. Because Creator sits on the same platform as the other Zoho apps, a Creator app can read and write Zoho CRM records, create Zoho Books invoices or start a Zoho Desk ticket without a separate integration tool. Forrester has covered Zoho Creator in its low-code reports, which Zoho publishes as ebooks. The trade-off is lock-in: Deluge only runs inside Zoho, and apps cannot be exported as standard code.

Why choose Zoho, and is it an Indian company?

Teams choose Zoho for productivity at a low cost: one subscription, one login and software that is scalable from a small business to a large one. Zoho Corporation is an Indian company, founded in 1996 by Sridhar Vembu and Tony Thomas, originally as AdventNet, and is headquartered in Chennai, India, with offices in the US and other countries. It is privately held and not a Chinese company.

Where Zoho shines — and where it falls short

Strengths:

  • A cost effective suite that replaces many separate tools, especially on Zoho One.
  • Apps that integrate out of the box, with one login and shared data.
  • Zoho Creator adds a real low-code platform for custom apps on the same data.
  • A free edition for CRM and Creator to start small.
  • A clear privacy stance: no ads and no selling of customer data.

Trade-offs:

  • The number of apps and settings makes setup and configuration take time, and the learning curve is steep for new users.
  • Some products are less polished than best-of-breed tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce, and the interface differs from app to app.
  • Deluge is Zoho-only, so custom logic stays inside Zoho.
  • Regional pricing and add-ons make the true cost harder to compare.

How Zoho compares

  • HubSpot: a CRM-first platform with stronger marketing tools, at a higher price as teams grow.
  • Pipedrive: a sales-pipeline CRM that is simpler than Zoho CRM.
  • Attio: a modern, flexible CRM for startups.
  • Odoo: an open-source business suite with a similar all-in-one scope.
  • Microsoft Power Apps: the low-code alternative to Zoho Creator for Microsoft 365 companies.
  • Quickbase: a low-code platform for operations teams, without a business suite around it.

Is Zoho worth it?

Zoho is worth it for small businesses and growing teams that want one suite for sales, finance, support and operations at a lower cost than stitching separate tools together, and for teams that want Zoho Creator to build custom apps on the same data. It is less of a fit when you need the deepest single tool in one area, or when you want to avoid platform lock-in. Plan the setup: the value comes from configuring the apps to work together. If you want help with Zoho Creator or a Zoho rollout, the low-code agencies and developers on LowCodeDevs can take it on.
