No-code platform for workflow automation and CRM with built-in AI agents

Automation · Business process management

Creatio is a no-code platform where companies build CRM, workflow automation and AI agents for sales, marketing and service teams.

Overview

Creatio review

This Creatio review covers what the platform is used for, its key features, Creatio pricing and plan limits, how its AI agents work, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with other tools. Creatio combines two things that most companies buy separately: a CRM for sales, marketing and service, and a no-code platform for process automation. Both run on one data model, so the customer data your sales team works with is the same data your automated workflows, approvals and AI agents use. The vendor, known as bpm'online until it renamed itself in October 2019, is based in Boston and sells mainly to mid-sized companies and large enterprises in regulated industries such as banking, insurance and the public sector.

What is Creatio used for?

Creatio is used to manage customers and automate the business processes around them. Sales teams use it to track leads, opportunities, contracts and forecasts, and to focus on the customers most likely to buy. Marketing teams run campaigns, email and lead scoring for new and existing customers. Support teams manage cases, a knowledge base and service levels, so customers get answers from one system instead of several. Around that CRM core, operational teams build automated workflows to streamline workflows around customers and internal requests, such as loan origination, claims, onboarding, procurement, employee requests and approvals of documents. Repetitive tasks such as data entry, reminders and routing move to the platform, which frees people to focus on complete, higher-value work.

The platform targets two groups. Business users and citizen developers build pages, forms and approval workflows in a drag and drop interface. IT teams add integration, security rules and advanced configurations when a process needs them. Creatio sells ready-made industry workflows for about 20 verticals, including banking, retail and manufacturing, and its marketplace lists more than 700 ready-to-go solutions and templates, so a company can start from a template rather than an empty system (Creatio). Large enterprises also use Creatio as one platform to replace several older CRM and business process management tools, which gives them visibility across sales, service and back-office processes.

Key features

  • No-code designers: capabilities for creating apps without code: a UI designer for pages and forms, a workflow designer for business processes in BPMN notation, and a case designer for evolving processes that do not follow a fixed path.
  • CRM products: Sales Creatio, Marketing Creatio and Service Creatio, sold as modules on top of the platform. Together they form a unified CRM that shares customer data, reports and dashboards, so sales, marketing and support teams see the same clients.
  • Composable architecture: each app, module and workflow is a component you can deploy on its own or combine, which lets companies start with basic automation and add deep customization options later.
  • Creatio AI: built-in AI across the platform, combining generative AI, predictive models and AI agents. Users ask for summaries, draft emails or next best actions in a chat panel, and admins build their own assistants.
  • AI Studio: the Prompt Agent Designer, Workflow Agent Designer and Code Agent Designer build custom AI agents with observability and governance, included by default since May 2026 (Creatio news).
  • Integration: REST and OData APIs, webhooks, connectors to email, calendars and telephony, and a marketplace of add-ons from partners, so the system can manage data that lives in ERP, document and finance systems.
  • Security and governance: role-based access, field-level permissions, audit logs and several environments per plan, with HIPAA compliance on the Enterprise plan (plan comparison).
  • Deployment: Creatio's cloud by default, with on-site deployment available for companies that need to keep data in their own data center.

Creatio pricing

Creatio prices its platform per user per month, billed annually, with the Creatio products for CRM as add-ons. Creatio's own plan comparison lists what each plan includes but no dollar figures, so the prices below come from eesel AI's pricing guide (August 2026):

  • Growth: $40 per user per month, from 5 users. 200 AI credits per user, 2 environments, 50,000 executed process elements a month.
  • Enterprise: $75 per user per month, from 5 users. 400 AI credits per user, 3 environments, unlimited workflows and API calls, custom branding, HIPAA compliance.
  • Unlimited: a custom quote based on the size of the organization, with unlimited users, custom agents, applications, workflows and environments, dedicated cloud resources and premium support (Creatio news).
  • CRM modules: Sales, Marketing and Service Creatio add about $15 per user per month each on Growth and Enterprise, and are included on Unlimited.

There is no free plan. Creatio offers a free trial of the platform.

The cost surprise to check is the minimum contract. According to eesel, new customers commit to at least $10,000 a year on a three-year term, so the five-user minimum is rarely the real floor. Each full user license on Growth also carries caps: 1 GB of database storage, 1 GB of file storage and 10,000 API calls a day, and extra AI credits come in annual packages from $5,000 (Creatio Academy). Business and Premium support cost 10% and 20% of the subscription. Add the partner fees for implementation, and the real costs of a Creatio project are far above the list price per user.

Creatio AI and AI agents

Creatio calls itself an AI-native platform. Creatio AI works in three ways. Generative AI drafts emails, summarizes records and answers questions about data in a chat panel. Predictive AI scores leads and forecasts outcomes. AI agents work inside workflows and CRM pages, for example to qualify a lead, prepare a meeting or route a service case. Each plan includes a set of AI credits, and every agent action uses credits. Companies that want AI agents to run at scale should budget for an extra AI package, because the included credits cover testing rather than production volume. The AI capabilities are built into the same no-code designers, so a business analyst can add an agent step to a workflow without a separate AI tool.

Key factors before choosing Creatio

A quick overview of what to check before a Creatio project:

  • Scope: Creatio pays off when you use it as one platform for CRM and workflows. If you only need a workflow platform for internal tasks, simpler tools cost less.
  • Customization: the drag and drop interface covers most pages, forms and approval workflows, but complex workflows, integration with older systems and data migration usually need a certified partner. Plan for that support in the budget.
  • Costs at scale: modular pricing means you pay for the platform and each CRM module per user. Creatio's own CRM pricing guide notes that implementation costs for large enterprises can exceed $150,000, so compare total cost over the three-year term, not the price per user (Creatio).
  • AI capabilities: check how many AI credits your use cases need. An AI CRM that summarizes every record or runs agents on every case will use far more than the included credits.
  • Adoption: the intuitive interface helps, but business users still need training to use the system well. Start with one team and one process, measure efficiency, performance and customer outcomes in reports, then scale to more users.
  • Specific needs: if your processes are close to one of Creatio's industry templates, you get value faster. If they are unusual, expect more configuration work and less relevant out-of-the-box content.

Creatio says it is named a leader or strong performer in multiple Gartner and Forrester reports for CRM and low-code, which helps in enterprise procurement, but the best test is a pilot on your own data.

Is Creatio a CRM?

Yes, but it is more than a CRM system. Creatio's CRM modules cover sales, marketing and service, and many companies buy it for that reason. The difference with a classic CRM such as HubSpot or Pipedrive is the no-code platform underneath: the same system automates complex workflows outside sales, such as approvals, claims or employee requests. For a small sales team that wants a simple tool with fast adoption, a lighter CRM is easier. For a business that wants to automate processes across departments, manage data about customers in one place and get visibility across sales and support, Creatio is one of the few tools that does both. Compared with Salesforce, Creatio is usually cheaper per user and easier to configure without code, but it has a smaller ecosystem of apps, partners and certified developers. Teams relying heavily on Salesforce's AppExchange should check which integrations exist before switching.

Where Creatio shines — and where it falls short

Strengths:

  • CRM and process automation on one platform and one data model.
  • No-code designers for pages, workflows, cases and AI agents.
  • Ready-made industry workflows for regulated sectors.
  • Built-in AI, with agent designers included in the platform.
  • Cloud or on-site deployment.

Trade-offs:

  • A $10,000 minimum spend and three-year contracts rule out small teams.
  • CRM modules and AI credits are priced on top of the platform.
  • Complex processes still need a partner or technical admin; the no-code promise has limits.
  • A smaller partner and developer pool than Salesforce or Microsoft.
  • Many features are configured, not self-explanatory, so adoption takes training.

How Creatio compares

  • Pegasystems: enterprise case management and decisioning for very large, complex processes.
  • Appian: low-code process automation and case management, strong in the public sector.
  • Microsoft Power Apps: low-code apps on Microsoft 365 and Dataverse, often paired with Dynamics 365 for CRM.
  • OutSystems and Mendix: low-code platforms for custom enterprise applications rather than a ready CRM.
  • Kissflow: simpler, cheaper workflow automation for internal requests and approvals.
  • Camunda: BPMN process orchestration for developer teams.
  • HubSpot and Pipedrive: easier CRMs for sales and marketing teams that do not need deep process automation.

Is Creatio worth it?

Creatio is worth it for mid-sized and large businesses that want CRM and workflow automation on one platform, and that are ready to invest in a proper rollout. It fits regulated industries with complex processes, strict security needs and many teams working on the same customers. It is less of a fit for small businesses, because of the minimum contract, and for teams that only need a simple sales CRM or a single approval workflow, where cheaper tools do the job. If you are evaluating Creatio or need help with an implementation, the no-code agencies and developers on LowCodeDevs can take it on.
