Overview

SnapWidget review

This SnapWidget review covers what the tool does, its features, SnapWidget pricing, how to embed a feed, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with other social feed widgets. SnapWidget turns an Instagram profile or hashtag into a widget you paste into your website: a grid or a scrolling feed of your latest photos and videos that updates on its own. It also supports other social media feeds: Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and X (Twitter). SnapWidget says more than 200,000 websites have used it since 2011 (SnapWidget).

What is SnapWidget used for?

SnapWidget is used to display a live Instagram feed on a website without writing code, so fresh content from your posts appears on the site automatically. Typical users are small shops, restaurants, photographers, bloggers and agencies building client sites. A feed on the home page or blog adds social proof, keeps the site looking fresh and sends website visitors to your Instagram profile, which can grow followers and engagement and bring traffic back to your profile. Shops use shoppable images to link a post to a product page, so a social feed can support sales too.

Key features

  • Instagram widgets: display your own profile as a responsive grid or a scrolling feed, with photos, videos and carousels, so you can highlight your best posts.
  • Hashtag widgets: display posts that use a hashtag, on paid plans only.
  • Other networks: Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Twitter (X) feeds, plus announcement banners. YouTube widgets show your latest videos in a grid.
  • Customization options: set the layout and look of each widget to match your site style; paid plans add custom CSS to match your brand.
  • Lightbox: open a photo in a pop-up on your site instead of sending visitors to Instagram.
  • Shoppable images and analytics: tag products on posts and use analytics to see widget clicks and engagement, on paid plans.
  • Auto refresh: paid widgets refresh every 5 minutes.
  • Works anywhere: paste the embed code into WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Shopify or any site that accepts HTML.

SnapWidget pricing

SnapWidget has a free plan and three paid plans, billed monthly. Prices come from the SnapWidget pricing page as of September 2026.

  • Free: basic Instagram widgets. Photos link to the SnapWidget website instead of your Instagram profile, and hashtag and carousel widgets are not included.
  • Lite: $8 per month for 1 Pro widget, unlimited views, photos that link to Instagram and a 5-minute refresh. No hashtag widgets.
  • Pro: $14 per month for 20 Pro widgets, including hashtag widgets.
  • Developer: $99 per month for 250 Pro widgets, for agencies that manage many client sites.

All paid plans include priority support, YouTube widgets, shoppable images, analytics, custom CSS, the lightbox and widgets for other users, and come with a 14-day free trial. Custom plans are available on request. Paid plans are billed per month, and features such as hashtag widgets and carousels depend on the plan you choose. The cost to check is the widget count: pricing is by the number of widgets, not by views, so a site with one feed pays $8, while an agency with a few dozen client feeds needs Developer.

How to add an Instagram widget to your website in simple steps

You can create a feed in a few simple steps. Create a SnapWidget account, connect your Instagram account, pick a widget type such as a grid or a scrolling feed, set the layout and style, then copy the embed code. Paste the code into an HTML or embed block on your site: most website builders and WordPress themes have one, so you do not need a separate plugin for the widget itself. On WordPress you can also use a dedicated Instagram feed plugin instead. The widget then loads your latest posts on every page view. To show posts from a hashtag or to link photos to your own profile, start the paid trial before you publish.

YouTube, TikTok and Facebook feeds

SnapWidget is not only an Instagram widget. You can create a YouTube widget that displays your latest videos in a grid, a TikTok feed of your recent posts, or a scrolling Facebook feed, and place them on the same site as your Instagram photos. Each one is created and styled in the same editor, so the brand look stays consistent across feeds. Announcement banners use the same embed code approach for short messages to website visitors.

Where SnapWidget shines — and where it falls short

Strengths:

  • Easy to set up, with a working feed in a few minutes.
  • A free plan that makes it easy to display a basic Instagram feed.
  • Low monthly price for one feed, and unlimited views on paid plans.
  • Works on any website platform through a simple embed code.

Trade-offs:

  • The free plan links photos to SnapWidget, not to your profile, and leaves out hashtag and carousel widgets.
  • Fewer widget types and templates than all-in-one widget platforms.
  • Customization options are limited without custom CSS.
  • The pricing page lists monthly prices only, so check whether yearly billing is available before you commit.

How SnapWidget compares

None of these widget tools has its own LowCodeDevs page yet, so they are named here without links:

  • Elfsight Instagram Feed: one of many widgets in the Elfsight platform, with more templates and filters.
  • Common Ninja: a widget platform with one plan that unlocks all its widget types.
  • Tagembed: a social wall for aggregating many networks and hashtags, often used at events.
  • Smash Balloon: a WordPress plugin rather than an embed code, for sites built on WordPress.
  • Built-in blocks: some builders, such as Squarespace and Wix, have their own Instagram blocks that may be enough for a simple feed.

Is SnapWidget worth it?

SnapWidget is worth it if you want a clean Instagram feed on your website quickly and at a low price. The free plan works for a basic feed, and Lite at $8 a month is enough for most small business sites that want photos to link to their own profile. It is less of a fit if you need many widget types in one subscription, advanced moderation or a social wall for events; an all-in-one widget platform or a dedicated aggregator fits better there. If you want help adding feeds and other integrations to a site, the web developers and low-code agencies on LowCodeDevs can build it for you.
