Mighty Networks
Community platform for paid memberships, online courses and live events
Mighty Networks is a community platform where creators and brands run paid memberships, online courses and live events in one place.
Overview
Mighty Networks review
This Mighty Networks review looks at the online community platform in detail: what it is used for, its key features, Mighty Networks pricing and transaction fees, the mobile and branded apps, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with other tools. Mighty Networks offers an all in one platform for community building: one "network" holds your community feed, spaces for topics or cohorts, courses, events and live streaming, member profiles and direct messaging, and the payments that tie them together. Members join on the web or in the Mighty app on iOS and Android. The company was founded in 2017 by Gina Bianchini, who earlier co-founded Ning, and is based in Palo Alto, California.
What is Mighty Networks used for?
Mighty Networks is used to build and charge for an online community, with online courses, events and a mobile app around it. Typical networks are paid community memberships for coaches and creators, cohort-based online courses, masterminds, professional networks and associations, alumni groups and brand communities. A creator might run a free community space as the front door, then sell a course and a premium membership inside the same network. Brands and organizations use Mighty Pro to put that network in their own branded mobile apps.
It is also a common move for groups leaving a Facebook group. The members, content and payments live on a platform you control, without an algorithm deciding who sees a post. Mighty Networks users include coaches, course creators, membership businesses, nonprofits and companies that run customer or member communities, from a few dozen active members to tens of thousands of community members.
Key features for community engagement and course creation
- Community spaces and feed: organize the network into multiple spaces with their own community feed, chat, polls, questions and articles. Each space can be free, paid or private, and members can join several spaces.
- Course creation: the Mighty Networks platform doubles as a course platform. Create online courses inside the community with sections, lessons, video, drip scheduling and quizzes, so learning and discussion sit side by side.
- Events and live streaming: run online events and in person events with a shared calendar, RSVPs and reminders. Live streaming is built in, with streaming hours and viewer caps set by plan.
- Direct messaging and member profiles: members can message each other, see who is nearby for local connections, and fill out profiles that make member discovery easier.
- Payments and memberships: sell subscriptions, one-time purchases, bundles and courses with Stripe, including free trials and coupons.
- Engagement tools: gamification with points, badges and streaks, plus automations that welcome new members and nudge inactive ones.
- AI features: the AI Cohost helps you set up a network, writing a landing page, a logo, brand imagery and a first community template from a short description of who you want to bring together.
- Custom domain and branding: add your logo, colors and brand banners, and use your own custom domain.
Mighty Networks pricing
There is no free plan. Mighty Networks offers a 14-day free trial on every plan with no credit card, and the trial unlocks Growth plan features, so you can test live streaming, automations and analytics before you pay. The prices below come from the Mighty Networks pricing page as of September 2026.
- Launch plan: the Launch plan starts at $79 a month, or $950 a year billed annually. Unlimited members, community, courses and events, custom domain, 20 streaming hours a month with up to 100 viewers per stream, 2% transaction fee.
- Scale plan: $179 a month. More automations and third-party integrations, 30 streaming hours with up to 200 viewers, 1% transaction fee.
- Growth plan: $354 a month. Advanced automations, advanced analytics, priority support, 40 streaming hours with up to 1,000 viewers, 0.5% transaction fee.
- Mighty Pro: custom pricing. Custom branded apps in the Apple and Google stores, unlimited hosts and a dedicated strategy team, 0.5% transaction fee.
The cost surprise to check is the transaction fees. Mighty Networks charges 2%, 1% or 0.5% on every sale depending on the plan, and Stripe's card processing fee comes on top, so there is always some fee on revenue. The pricing page also has a monthly and annual toggle. Several third-party guides quote higher month-to-month prices, $95 for Launch and $215 for Scale, so check which billing period a price refers to before you compare. Mighty Networks renamed its plans in 2025: the old Community, Courses and Business plans became Launch, Scale and Growth, so older reviews that mention a $49 Community plan or a Business plan are out of date. Mighty Networks pricing is simple to compare across the Launch, Scale plan and Growth plan tiers: the higher the plan, the lower the transaction fees and the more streaming hours and automations you get.
Mobile app, Android apps and branded apps
Every network works in a web browser and in the Mighty mobile app for iOS, with Android apps in Google Play, where members can post, chat, join events and watch live streams. On standard plans members use that shared Mighty app with your network inside it. Custom branded apps, native mobile apps with your own name and icon in the App Store and Google Play, are part of Mighty Pro, which is priced per project with the dedicated strategy team. Some reviews say branded apps start on the Scale plan; the vendor pricing page lists them only under Mighty Pro.
Mighty Networks vs Circle: which community platform fits
Circle and Mighty Networks are the two community platforms creators compare most often, and both Mighty Networks and Circle run online courses, events and paid memberships. Mighty Networks leans on community engagement and member engagement features: a social feed, gamification, member discovery, built-in live streaming and events, and courses in the same network. Unlike Mighty Networks, Circle leans on a clean, forum-like layout, deep customization and a broader integration ecosystem. Both take a transaction fee on lower plans. Mighty Networks is often the better fit for creators who want a lively, app-first community with courses and live events. Circle often suits teams that want a structured community that plugs into other tools. Both platforms offer a free trial, so testing each with a small group of members is the simplest way to decide.
Where Mighty Networks shines — and where it falls short
Strengths:
- Community, courses, events and live streaming in one platform with unlimited members.
- Strong member engagement tools: feeds, gamification, direct messaging and local connections.
- Mobile app for iOS and Android on every plan, and custom branded apps with Mighty Pro.
- AI Cohost speeds up community building and the first setup of a network.
- Mighty Pro gives larger brands custom branded apps and a dedicated strategy team.
Trade-offs:
- Transaction fees on every plan, never zero even on Growth.
- Branded apps only on custom-priced Mighty Pro.
- Fewer integrations and less layout customization than some rivals on the Launch plan; advanced features such as more automations need Scale or Growth.
- Course tools are lighter than a dedicated course platform such as Kajabi or Thinkific.
How Mighty Networks compares
- Circle: a customizable community platform with a broader integration ecosystem.
- Kajabi: an all-in-one course, website and email platform with community as one part.
- Podia: a simpler creator store for courses, downloads and a community.
- Memberful: memberships that plug into your existing site, WordPress or Ghost.
- MemberSpace and Memberstack: paywalls and member logins added to an existing website.
- Substack and Ghost: newsletter-first platforms with paid subscriptions and a lighter community.
Is Mighty Networks worth it?
Mighty Networks is worth it for creators, coaches and brands that want a paid community with courses, events and live streaming in one place and a mobile app from day one. The Launch plan covers most first paid communities, and the 14-day trial lets you test the platform with real community members. Mighty Networks delivers the most value when active members use the mobile app, join events and take courses in the same place. It is less of a fit if you need zero transaction fees, deep integrations or advanced course features, or if you want your own branded app on a small budget. If you want help to set up or migrate a Mighty Networks community, the community-platform agencies and developers on LowCodeDevs can take it on.
