Kajabi
All-in-one platform to sell online courses, coaching and memberships
Kajabi is an all-in-one platform where creators and coaches sell online courses, coaching programs, communities and digital products.
Overview
Kajabi review
This Kajabi review covers what the platform is used for, its key features, Kajabi pricing and fees, payments, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with other tools. Kajabi puts the parts of an online business into one platform: a website builder, a course builder, coaching and community features, email marketing, sales pages and payments. Instead of connecting separate tools for hosting, checkout and email, you run the entire business from one Kajabi dashboard. That convenience is also the main reason Kajabi costs more than a simpler online course platform. Kajabi says creators have earned more than $3.9 billion on the platform (per Jordan Outside).
What is Kajabi used for?
Kajabi is used by course creators, coaches, consultants and educators who want to create online courses and turn what they know into an online business. Typical uses are online courses, group and one-to-one coaching programs, paid communities and membership sites, podcasts, digital downloads and newsletters. Many creators start with one course and later add a community or a coaching offer on the same account, so customers log in once and see everything they bought.
Because email marketing, landing pages and checkout are built in, Kajabi also replaces the stack a creator would otherwise assemble from a hosting platform, a payment gateway, marketing tools and a course platform. It is software for selling knowledge, not a store for physical products.
Key features
- Course builder: create online courses with modules, lessons, quizzes and drip schedules, and track progress for each student. Video hosting is included, so you do not need a separate video host.
- Coaching and communities: sell coaching programs with sessions and resources, and run a private community with free and paid access, live events and chat.
- Website builder: build your own website, sales pages and landing pages from themes and blocks, on your own custom domain.
- Email marketing and funnels: send broadcasts and automated sequences, capture leads with opt-in forms, and use pre-built marketing funnels to launch a product.
- Payments: sell with Kajabi Payments or a connected gateway, with one-time prices, subscriptions and payment plans, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal at checkout (Jordan Outside).
- Kajabi mobile app: students and members can access courses and communities in the Kajabi app on iOS and Android.
- Analytics and CRM: see sales, contacts and marketing results in the dashboard, and connect third-party apps through Zapier and other integrations (Zapier).
Kajabi pricing
Kajabi has three plans. Prices below come from the Kajabi pricing page as of September 2026.
- Basic: $179 per month, or $143 per month billed annually. 5 products, 2,500 contacts, 1 website, 1 community, 2 admin users.
- Growth: $249 per month, or $199 per month billed annually. 50 products, 25,000 contacts, 11 admin users.
- Pro: $499 per month, or $399 per month billed annually. Unlimited products, 100,000 contacts, 3 websites, 3 communities, 26 admin users.
Every plan includes unlimited marketing emails and a custom domain. Kajabi says it does not take a revenue share as a platform. There is no free plan; Kajabi offers a free trial (14 days, credit card required, per DemandSage).
The cost surprise to check is payment processing and contacts. With Kajabi Payments you pay processing fees of 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic, 2.8% + $0.30 on Growth and 2.7% + $0.30 on Pro. With a third-party payment gateway, Kajabi adds a transaction fee of 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth and 0.5% on Pro on top of your gateway's own fees. The usage metric is contacts: past your plan's limit, extra contacts cost $125 per month per 25,000, so a growing email list can push the cost up faster than sales do. Third-party guides also note that the January 2026 pricing update raised the Growth and Pro prices (Hopper, written by a competitor).
Course builder, video hosting and community features
The course builder is where most creators start. You create a course from a template, upload lessons, add quizzes, surveys and downloads, and release content on a drip schedule. Kajabi hosts the video for you, with unlimited video hosting up to 4 GB per file (per Jordan Outside), and students watch on the web or in the iOS and Android app. An AI assistant in the course builder can draft outlines, lesson text and marketing copy from your content. Community features let members post, comment and join live calls, so a course, a membership site and a community can share one login. Kajabi also hosts public or private podcasts, which some creators use as a paid bonus inside a membership.
Kajabi payments and fees explained
Kajabi Payments is the built-in payment option. It handles checkout, subscriptions and payment plans inside Kajabi, and supports Apple Pay and Google Pay. If you prefer your own payment gateway such as Stripe, you can still connect it, but on current plans you then pay Kajabi's extra transaction fee on each sale. For most creators on Basic, using Kajabi Payments is the cheaper option; on Pro, the difference is small. Either way, check the fees on your expected sales volume before you choose a plan, because processing fees are often a larger cost than the monthly pricing. Some reviews say Kajabi has zero transaction fees on every plan; that is only true with Kajabi Payments, since the pricing page lists an extra fee for third-party gateways.
Support and learning resources
Kajabi offers 24/7 live chat support and a library of training in Kajabi University, plus a large community of creators (Zapier). That matters for a non-technical creator who runs the entire business alone. Kajabi also runs a partner program for affiliates who refer new customers.
Is Kajabi a CRM?
Kajabi includes a basic CRM: every contact has a profile with purchases, tags, form submissions and email activity, and you can segment contacts for email marketing. It is not a full sales CRM with pipelines for a sales team. Most creators use it as their customer database and email tool, and connect a dedicated CRM only if they sell high-ticket services with a sales process.
Where Kajabi shines — and where it falls short
Strengths:
- One platform for courses, coaching, communities, email marketing, website and payments.
- Unlimited video hosting and unlimited marketing emails on every plan.
- No revenue share on sales through Kajabi Payments.
- Good templates and marketing funnels for launching a digital product quickly.
Trade-offs:
- Expensive for beginners: the Basic plan starts at $143 per month billed annually.
- Contact limits and third-party payment fees raise the real cost as you grow.
- Fewer design and customization options than a dedicated website builder; tools like WordPress give more flexibility.
- Course features are simpler than a full learning management system.
How Kajabi compares
- Podia: a cheaper, lighter platform for courses, downloads and memberships, from $49 a month (BloggingX).
- Circle: the stronger choice when the community is the main product.
- Mighty Networks: community-first, with courses and events inside the network.
- Gumroad and Payhip: simple checkout for digital downloads with a percentage fee instead of a high monthly price.
- Memberful and MemberSpace: add paid memberships to a website you already have.
- Outseta: memberships, payments and email for founders who build their own site.
Is Kajabi worth it?
Kajabi is worth it for creators and coaches with an established audience who want one platform for their entire business and would otherwise pay for several separate tools. At that stage the all-in-one platform saves time, and the cost is easier to justify. It is less of a fit if you are just starting, sell only one small product, or need a large email list on a small budget, because the monthly price and contact limits come before any revenue. If you want help setting up Kajabi or moving your courses to it, the low-code agencies and developers on LowCodeDevs can take it on.
