Parabola
No-code data workflows and AI automation for ops and finance teams
Parabola is a no-code platform where operations and finance teams build visual data workflows and AI automations that run on their own.
Overview
Parabola review
This Parabola review covers what the platform does, its key features, Parabola pricing and credits, how it has changed into Prowork, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with other automation tools. Parabola lets you build a flow on a canvas: steps pull data in from files, apps and APIs, transform it, and send the result to another system or a report. Every step shows its output, so the logic stays visible and documented, and the data pipelines run again on a schedule without a human copying files. It is a workflow automation tool for data tasks, not for code. In 2026 the product is sold as Prowork by Parabola, which the vendor describes as automation that "turns your team's data, context, and know-how into processes that run on their own while showing their work step by step" (Parabola).
What is Parabola used for?
Parabola is used for recurring processes and data tasks that people used to do by hand in spreadsheets. Operations teams and finance teams at growing brands use it for inventory reconciliation, purchase order matching, month-end close, order management, shipment tracking and KPI reporting. A typical flow pulls data from Shopify, Amazon or NetSuite, cleans and matches it, flags the records that need a human to review them, and pushes a summary to a sheet or back into the ERP.
The vendor names customers such as Caraway, which says it saved 150 hours a month on operations, and Ruggable, which says it cut KPI reporting time by 65%. These are vendor claims, not independent measurements. The common thread is data pipelines that cross several systems, run on a schedule and need an audit trail. For example, a supply chain team can automate a daily stock report that pulls inventory data from three systems, cross references it with open orders, and flags SKUs where demand is above stock for a human to check.
Key features
- Visual flows: a canvas where steps connect with arrows. Each step pulls, transforms or sends data, and you can inspect the table at every point in the process (Parabola docs).
- Complex data transformations: filter, sort, merge, dedupe, cross reference and reshape records without code, including JSON from APIs.
- AI steps: a Custom transform step, released in April 2025, builds a transformation from plain-language instructions (Parabola updates). AI can also read documents and handle complex tasks inside a flow.
- Integrations: connectors for NetSuite, Shopify, Amazon, DHL, UPS, SharePoint and many other ERP, WMS and ecommerce systems, plus CSV files, spreadsheets, forms, email attachments and APIs. Each integration is a step, so one flow can pull data from several services.
- Scheduling and live data: paid plans run flows on a schedule so reports and syncs stay current, and flows run in Parabola's cloud, so nothing needs to be installed.
- Tables: flows can write results to Parabola tables, with table storage included in each paid plan.
- Security: SOC 2 Type II, SSO and SAML, role-based access and data encryption, according to the vendor.
Parabola pricing
Parabola charges in credits. A credit is used "every time you run a Prowork flow or have AI complete complex tasks", and the number depends on the unique steps and the complexity of the process (Parabola billing docs). Credits are only consumed when a flow runs. As of September 2026:
- Basic: free for one user, with 1,000 credits a month and limited AI. No scheduled flows.
- Explorer: $20 a month, with full AI access, daily scheduling, 1,500 credits and 250 MB of table storage (from Parabola's pricing documentation).
- Team, Advanced and Business: higher credit volumes, more users (unlimited on Advanced and Enterprise) and business features. Business plans are quoted by sales and include 7,500 monthly chat credits for the in-app assistant.
The cost surprise to check is credit overage. On the free Basic plan, flows stop until the billing period resets once you hit 1,000 credits. On Explorer and above, going over switches you to pay-per-credit billing, so a busy flow with many steps can cost more than the plan price. Build and test a real flow on the free plan and watch its credit use before you commit, and budget for growth as the business and data volumes scale. Some comparison sites still list paid plans from $80 a month; Parabola's current documentation lists a $20 Explorer plan.
Data pipelines and workflow automation for operations teams
Most Parabola flows are small data pipelines built by operations teams rather than engineers. A flow can pull data from an integration, apply complex data transformations, and write the output to a sheet, a table or another system. Because every step is documented on the canvas, a human can open the flow later and see why a record was flagged. This is the main difference from app-to-app tools: Parabola works on whole tables of records at once, so it can automate tasks such as matching thousands of order lines or reconciling a bank export, not only single events. Finance teams use the same data workflows for close and reconciliation work, where an audit trail matters.
From Parabola to Prowork: an AI native platform
Parabola started as a visual, drag-and-drop tool for data tasks. In 2026 the company positions its product as Prowork, "the AI agent platform for ops and finance teams". The building blocks are the same data workflows and steps, but AI now plans and runs more of the tasks, and the focus is on finance and operations processes that must be explainable. The product, docs and billing still live at parabola.io.
Where Parabola shines — and where it falls short
Strengths:
- A user friendly interface for data workflows that non-developers can build and read.
- Strong for ecommerce and supply chain data: Shopify, Amazon, NetSuite and carriers.
- Visible, step-by-step logic that finance teams can audit.
- A free plan to learn, test and automate a first process.
Trade-offs:
- Credit-based pricing is hard to predict for large or frequent flows.
- Cloud only; there is no on-premise version.
- It moves and transforms data; it is not a full process orchestration or form tool.
- Heavy custom logic still needs an API step or another platform.
- Pricing for Team and Business plans is not published, so you have to talk to sales to compare costs.
How Parabola compares with alternatives
- Zapier: app-to-app triggers and actions; lighter on table transformations.
- Make: visual scenarios with more routing logic, priced by operations.
- n8n: open-source workflow automation you can self-host, with code nodes.
- Microsoft Power Automate: the Microsoft 365 option, including desktop RPA.
- Alteryx: desktop analytics and data prep for analysts, at a much higher price.
- Fivetran: managed ELT into a data warehouse rather than business workflows.
- Pipedream: a developer-first automation platform with code steps.
Is Parabola worth it?
Parabola is worth it for operations and finance teams that spend hours a week copying, matching and cleaning data between Shopify, Amazon, an ERP and spreadsheets. The visual flows are easy to follow, the free plan lets you test a real process, and the paid plans start low. It is less of a fit for simple app-to-app triggers, where Zapier or Make are enough, for teams that need self-hosting, or for large volumes where credit costs add up.
