Overview

Tilda review

This Tilda review covers what the Tilda website builder is used for, its key features, Tilda pricing, the Zero Block editor, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with other website builders. Tilda offers a block approach to creating websites and web pages: you stack pre designed blocks for headers, text, galleries, forms and footers, and each one is already designed by professional designers. When the blocks are not enough, the Zero Block gives you a free-form web design editor with animation. Tilda hosts every website created with it, adds an SSL certificate and serves pages through a content delivery network, so there is no separate hosting to buy. It was founded by designer Nikita Obukhov in 2014 and has grown into an international platform (Tilda).

What is Tilda used for?

Tilda is used for creating websites where design matters more than complex logic. Typical projects are landing pages for campaigns and product launches, company websites, portfolios, event promo pages, long reads and editorial pages, small online stores and online courses. Designers and agencies use it to build customer websites quickly, because the blocks already follow good typography and spacing, and clients can edit the website content later without breaking the layout. Marketers like it for landing pages with online forms that send leads to a CRM, Google Sheets or email marketing tools.

It also works for your own business when you want a beautiful website without hiring a web developer. A new website starts from a template or an empty page, every web page is built from blocks in a visual editor with an intuitive interface, and all the blocks adapt to mobile screens. Tilda users can create multi page websites or single landing pages from the same personal account.

Key features

  • Block library: 550+ pre designed blocks, from key blocks such as covers with background videos and an animated slideshow to forms and footers, and more than 200 ready-made templates across industries (Tilda Education). Block settings control colors, spacing and typographic elements.
  • Zero Block: a web design editor inside the page where you place elements freely, add basic animation, complex animations on scroll and responsive layouts with Auto Layout. You can save your own blocks and reuse them.
  • AI tools: AI page generation and text editing, plus a Vibe Block for interactive elements such as calculators.
  • Online store: product catalog, cart, promo codes and order notifications, with payment systems such as Stripe, PayPal and 2Checkout, and Apple Pay and Google Pay through supported providers.
  • Online forms: forms with branching logic that connect to 25+ services, including Google Sheets, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Slack and Telegram.
  • Email marketing and courses: a newsletter builder, an online course builder with lessons and quizzes, and Tilda Docs for knowledge bases.
  • Custom code: HTML code blocks, custom fonts from Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts or your own files, and Google Tag Manager.
  • SEO tools and built in analytics: page settings for titles, descriptions and social previews, a sitemap, built in analytics, and the option to connect Google Analytics.
  • Hosting and security: CDN on geographically distributed servers, DDoS protection and HTTPS on every website.

Tilda pricing

Tilda has a free plan and two paid plans. The prices below come from the Tilda pricing page as of September 2026.

  • Free plan: $0. One website with a basic block collection, on a Tilda subdomain. Third-party reviews list 50 pages and 50 MB of storage (Website Planet).
  • Personal plan: $10 per month with annual payment, $15 month to month. One website, full access to the block library, a custom domain on your own domain name, the online store and payment systems.
  • Business plan: $20 per month with annual payment, $25 month to month. Up to 5 websites, everything in Personal, plus the option to export source code and use the API.

Annual subscribers can remove the "Made on Tilda" label. The usage metric is the number of websites, not traffic or visitors.

The cost surprise to check is what the free plan leaves out: most of the block library, a custom domain and online store features need a paid plan. Code export only comes with the Business plan, so moving a Tilda website to other hosting later means upgrading first.

When to upgrade: stay on the free plan to learn the editor. Move to Personal for one live website on your own domain. Choose Business when you manage several customer websites or want to export HTML code.

Zero Block and custom code

The Zero Block is what separates Tilda from other website builders that only offer templates. Inside a Zero Block you draw text, images, shapes and buttons freely on a grid, set how they move when users scroll, and define different layouts for desktop, tablet and phone. That makes it possible to build visual content that looks designed rather than assembled. The trade-off is a learning curve: the Zero Block takes time, and the block editor needs some experience before the design process feels fast.

For a web developer, Tilda accepts custom code in HTML blocks, custom CSS and scripts, so you can add widgets, tracking and integrations that the standard blocks do not cover. On the Business plan the website can be exported as HTML code with images, and the API can pull pages into another system.

Online store, forms and marketing

Tilda is a good fit for a small store. The store catalog handles products, variants and promo codes, and checkout connects to several payment systems. For larger catalogs with complex inventory, a dedicated ecommerce platform is the better tool.

Online forms are one of Tilda's strongest parts. Every form can send submissions to more than 25 services, from Google Sheets to a CRM. Combined with the newsletter builder and email marketing integrations, Tilda covers the whole path from landing page to lead to email for many small businesses.

Search engine optimization and site settings

Tilda offers the basics for search engine optimization in page settings and site settings: titles, descriptions, page URLs, a sitemap and social previews for each page. Pages load from a content delivery network, which helps them show up well in search results. Built in analytics shows visits and conversions, and you can connect Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for deeper tracking of websites created with Tilda. The SEO tools cover what most small sites need; large sites with thousands of pages usually outgrow them.

Where Tilda shines — and where it falls short

Strengths:

  • Beautiful, consistent design out of the box from a large block library.
  • Zero Block for custom layouts and animation without code.
  • Strong online forms, email marketing integrations and built in analytics.
  • Low price for one website, with hosting, SSL, CDN and all the tools for forms and SEO included.

Trade-offs:

  • The free plan is limited; most features need a paid plan.
  • A learning curve for the Zero Block and block settings.
  • Support is by email; Website Planet found no phone or live chat option.
  • Ecommerce tools suit small catalogs rather than large ones.

How Tilda compares

  • Readymag: a design-first builder for editorial pages and presentations.
  • Framer: a design tool turned website builder with strong interactions.
  • Squarespace: polished templates and stronger built-in ecommerce.
  • Webflow: more design control and a full CMS, with a steeper learning curve.
  • Wix: the easiest drag-and-drop editor for beginners.
  • Carrd: cheap one-page sites and link pages.
  • Strikingly: simple one-page websites.

Is Tilda worth it?

Tilda is worth it for designers, agencies, marketers and small businesses who want beautiful landing pages and multi page websites fast, without a web developer. The Personal plan is affordable for one website, and the Business plan pays off when you manage customer websites. It is less of a fit for large online stores, complex web apps, or teams that need phone support. If you want help building or improving a Tilda website, the website agencies and developers on LowCodeDevs can take it on.
