Carrd is a no-code builder for fully responsive one-page sites, used for landing pages, personal profiles and link-in-bio pages.

Overview

Carrd review

This Carrd review covers what Carrd is used for, its key features, Carrd pricing, how one-page sites and sections work, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with other website builders. Carrd builds one page sites for pretty much anything: you start from a template or a blank page, stack elements in a block based editor, and publish. Every site gets a responsive look on phones, tablets and desktops without extra work. The free plan covers the core features for up to three sites; a Pro plan adds custom domains, forms and widgets for a low yearly price. Carrd is made by Carrd Inc., founded by the designer and developer AJ, who also created HTML5 UP, and launched in 2016.

What is Carrd used for?

Carrd is used to build small, focused websites fast. Typical examples are a landing page for a product or event, a personal profile or portfolio, a link-in-bio page for social media, a waitlist or signup page to capture emails, a resume, and simple pages for fundraisers and creators. Because each site is one page, it suits projects with a single goal: explain one thing, collect contacts or send visitors to a payment or booking link. Founders use it to test an idea over a weekend, and many people keep a Carrd site as a lightweight home on the web next to their social profiles.

Key features

  • Block based editor: elements such as text, images, buttons, lists, galleries, video, icons, dividers and containers stacked on one page. Container elements hold columns and layouts, and each element can change per screen size.
  • Templates: dozens of templates for landing pages, profiles, portfolios and forms, or start from a blank page.
  • Responsive by default: every site adapts to phones, tablets and desktops.
  • Forms: contact and signup forms, plus payment enabled forms through Stripe or PayPal on Pro plans.
  • Widgets and embeds: third party services like Gumroad, Typeform, Mailchimp or your own custom code.
  • Custom domains and SSL: publish sites on your own domain with full SSL support on Pro Standard and Pro Plus.
  • Site analytics: optional site analytics with Google Analytics or Matomo tracking to monitor performance and traffic.

Carrd pricing

According to the Carrd Pro page (September 2026), every paid plan is billed yearly and there is no monthly option.

  • Free: up to three sites on a carrd.co subdomain with "Made with Carrd" branding.
  • Pro Lite: $9 a year for 3 sites, with $14 and $29 tiers for 10 and 25 sites. Removes branding, but has no custom domains, forms, widgets or analytics.
  • Pro Standard: $19 a year for 10 sites, up to $599 a year for 1,000 sites. Adds custom domains, forms, widgets, embeds and site analytics.
  • Pro Plus: $49 a year for 25 sites, up to $999 a year for 1,000 sites. Adds advanced forms, password protection, redirects, site files, download sites and canonical URLs.

All Pro plans come with a 7-day free trial, and the usage metric is simply the number of sites on a single Carrd account.

The cost surprise to check is that Pro Lite looks like the entry plan but cannot publish sites on custom domains or add forms. Most business sites need Pro Standard at $19 a year, plus the cost of the domain itself, which Carrd does not sell. Payment forms also carry the normal Stripe or PayPal fees.

Pro Lite vs Pro Standard: custom domains, forms, widgets and site analytics

The free plan gives you Carrd's core features, but the Pro exclusive features are what turn a Carrd site into a business page. With Pro Standard you publish sites on custom domains with full SSL support and remove the Carrd branding from the footer. Forms add contact and signup fields that send entries by email or to services like Mailchimp, and payment enabled forms take money through Stripe or PayPal. Widgets and embeds bring in third party services and your own custom code, and site analytics adds Google Analytics tracking. Pro Plus unlocks advanced forms, password protection and redirects; choose it when advanced forms or access control for a private page matter. Pro Lite only removes branding and adds more sites, so it suits personal pages on a carrd.co address. You can upgrade from one Pro plan to another at any time, and each plan covers every site on a single Carrd account.

How to create a landing page with Carrd

Sign up for a free account, then create a site from a landing page template or a blank page. Replace the text and images, add elements such as a button, a signup form or a gallery, and check the layout on phone and desktop sizes. Publish to a free carrd.co address to test it with real traffic. When the page works, upgrade to Pro Standard to publish on a custom domain, remove the branding and turn on site analytics. If you need more than three sites, the Pro tiers raise the limit per account. A focused landing page with one headline, one form and one call to action is where Carrd performs best.

One page sites, sections and multi page websites

Carrd builds one page, but that page can hold several sections. A Section Break control splits a site into named sections that visitors switch between by link, which simulates multi page websites on a single URL (Carrd docs: Using Sections). This covers an about, services and contact layout for a small business. It is not a real multi-page site: there is no blog, no CMS and no separate URL path per product. If you need a blog, a store or dozens of pages, pick another builder.

Where Carrd shines — and where it falls short

Strengths:

  • Very cheap: a year of Pro Standard, with custom domains, forms and analytics, costs less than one month of most website builders.
  • Fast to learn; a simple site takes an hour or less.
  • Clean, responsive templates and fast pages.
  • Forms, payments and third party widgets cover most small needs.

Trade-offs:

  • One page per site; sections only imitate multiple pages.
  • No blog, CMS, store catalog or membership features.
  • Limited SEO control and fewer features than full website builders.
  • Design freedom stops at the block system and its elements.
  • Standard forms lack conditional logic and advanced validation.

How Carrd compares

  • Framer: design-first multi-page sites with animations and a CMS.
  • Webflow: professional sites with full design control and a CMS.
  • Wix: multi-page sites, stores and bookings with a drag-and-drop editor.
  • Squarespace: polished templates for small businesses, portfolios and stores.
  • Strikingly: simple one-page and small multi-page sites with a store.
  • Leadpages: landing pages built for conversion and lead capture.
  • Super: websites built from Notion pages.
  • Cargo: portfolio sites for artists and designers.

Is Carrd worth it?

Carrd is worth it for anyone who needs a simple, good-looking page on the web for little money: a landing page, a profile, a link hub or a signup page. The free plan is enough to try it, and Pro Standard at $19 a year is hard to beat for one-page sites with a custom domain and forms. It is the wrong tool for a blog, an online store, a site that needs many pages, or a brand that needs full design freedom. If you want help to design a Carrd site or move to a bigger platform later, the agencies and developers on LowCodeDevs can take it on.

Questions

Carrd FAQ

How much does Carrd Pro cost?

Carrd Pro starts at $9 a year for Pro Lite, $19 a year for Pro Standard with custom domains and forms, and $49 a year for Pro Plus. Larger tiers for more sites go up to $999 a year.

Is Carrd really free?

Yes. The free plan builds up to three sites with Carrd's core features on a carrd.co subdomain, with a "Made with Carrd" badge. Custom domains, forms and widgets need a Pro plan.

What is Carrd used for?

Landing pages, personal profiles, portfolios, link-in-bio pages, resumes and signup pages that capture emails. Each site is a single page.

Is Carrd better than Wix?

Carrd is cheaper and faster for a single page. Wix is better when you need multiple pages, a blog, an online store or bookings.

Why is Carrd so cheap?

Carrd limits its features on purpose: one page per site and no blog or store, which keeps the product simple and costs low. Plans are billed once a year.

Is Carrd trustworthy?

Yes. Carrd has run since 2016 from Carrd Inc., hosts sites with SSL and handles payments through Stripe and PayPal rather than storing card data itself.

What are some alternatives to Carrd?

Framer, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace and Strikingly for bigger sites, and Leadpages for conversion-focused landing pages.
