Strikingly
Website builder for simple one-page and small multi-page sites, stores and blogs
Strikingly is a website builder for small businesses and creators who want a simple one-page or small site, store or blog without code.
Overview
Strikingly review
This Strikingly website builder review covers what Strikingly is used for, its key features, Strikingly pricing and plans, its ecommerce and SEO features, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with other website builders. Strikingly started in 2012 with a focus on single page websites: one long, scrolling page split into sections, built from templates in a few minutes. It has since added multi page sites, a blog, an online store, memberships, an AI site generator and a mobile app. It is a hosted site builder, so hosting, SSL and updates are included, and you edit everything in the browser without web design skills.
What is Strikingly used for?
Strikingly is used for landing pages, personal and portfolio sites, event pages, small business websites and simple online stores. Its strength is one page websites: a startup launch page, a restaurant, a freelancer's portfolio or a product page where everything fits on one scrolling page. Creators also use it to sell a handful of products or digital downloads, to run a small blog with subscriptions, or to put content behind site memberships.
It is less suited to complex websites. Large stores, sites with many pages and deep navigation, or projects that need custom code and fine design control are usually better served by other website builders.
Key features
- Templates and editor: Strikingly's templates number more than 180, for business, startup, portfolio and store sites, per Experte. A site is built from pages, sections and elements, and you can switch templates later without rebuilding the content.
- Single page and multi page sites: start with one scrolling page, then add pages to the top menu bar as the entire site grows.
- AI site generator: describe the site and Strikingly generates a first version to edit.
- Blog: categories, comments, cover and featured images, and blog subscriptions with an RSS feed, so you can publish blog posts directly from the editor.
- SEO features: custom page URLs, title tags and meta descriptions, social or featured images for sharing, an automatic XML sitemap, robots.txt and 301 redirects, Google Search Console and a built-in SEO checklist.
- Ecommerce features: products with variants, digital downloads, coupons, shipping and taxes, with Stripe, PayPal, Square and offline payments.
- Memberships: membership sites with members-only pages, with multiple membership tiers on VIP.
- Custom code and custom forms: embed HTML through element and section templates, and collect leads with sign-up and contact forms.
- Integrations: a small app store and integrations pane with tools such as Mailchimp, Ecwid and Eventbrite.
- Mobile app: an iOS and Android app for quick edits and site analytics on the go.
Strikingly pricing
Strikingly offers a free plan and three paid Strikingly plans, each priced per site count. According to the Strikingly pricing page (September 2026), billed yearly:
- Free plan: $0. Unlimited free sites on a Strikingly domain (strikingly.com subdomain), with Strikingly branding, basic features and limited monthly bandwidth.
- Limited plan: $8 a month ($96 a year). 2 sites, connect your own domain, a free domain for a year, 1 GB storage per site, 50 GB monthly bandwidth, one product with a 5% transaction fee, and 24/7 chat support.
- Pro plan: $16 a month ($192 a year). 3 sites, 20 GB storage per site, unlimited bandwidth, up to 300 products, a 2% transaction fee, site memberships and multilingual sites.
- VIP plan: $49 a month ($588 a year). 5 sites, 100 GB storage per site, unlimited bandwidth, up to 500 products, no transaction fee, multiple membership tiers, phone support, priority support and a dedicated account manager.
Add-ons: a custom domain name costs $24.95 a year and custom email $25 a year. The pricing page shows yearly terms only. Monthly billing costs more: third-party guides list about $20 a month for Pro and $59 for VIP (LitExtension).
The cost surprise to check is the transaction fee and the site count. Limited and Pro take 5% and 2% of every sale on top of payment processing, and each plan covers a fixed number of sites, so a second store or client site means another plan. The free domain is free for the first year only, so budget for the custom domain renewal per site after that.
Strikingly ecommerce features
Strikingly works for simple online stores. You can sell physical products and digital downloads, add variants, create coupons, set shipping and tax rules, and take payments through Stripe, PayPal or Square. Limits are tight: one product on Limited, 300 on Pro and 500 on VIP, and Experte notes only two product options per item. Some reviews describe VIP as unlimited products; the pricing page says up to 500. For a larger catalog, a dedicated ecommerce platform is a better fit.
Is Strikingly secure, and how good are its SEO features?
Strikingly covers the basic SEO settings most small sites need: page titles, meta descriptions, clean URLs, an automatic sitemap, 301 redirects, robots.txt, Search Console and an SEO checklist that guides beginners. Advanced users may miss options such as setting individual pages to noindex, which Experte says is not possible. On security, Strikingly sites run on SSL, including custom domains, and Strikingly handles hosting, backups and updates (LitExtension). There is no plugin layer to patch, which keeps the attack surface small.
Customer support, mobile app and advanced features
Every paid plan includes 24/7 live chat with Strikingly's support team, which it calls Happiness Officers, and a help center with guides and videos. Free accounts rely mainly on the help center. Phone support and a dedicated account manager come only with the VIP plan, and priority support is part of VIP too. The mobile app for iOS and Android lets you update a Strikingly site, check site analytics and make small text changes on the go. Advanced features such as multilingual sites, site memberships and higher product limits start on the Pro plan, which is the plan most small businesses need for a professional website on their own custom domain.
Where Strikingly shines — and where it falls short
Strengths:
- Very fast to build a clean single page site or landing page.
- A real free plan and cheap paid plans for small sites.
- Blog, store, memberships and SEO checklist built in.
- 24/7 live chat support on every paid plan, from what Strikingly calls its Happiness Officers; Strikingly offers phone support on VIP.
Trade-offs:
- Limited customization options and design freedom compared with Wix or Webflow.
- Transaction fees on Limited and Pro, and low product limits.
- Fixed number of sites per plan, with storage per site on the Limited plan.
- Few integrations and a small app store.
- Not built for complex websites with many pages.
How Strikingly compares
- Carrd: even simpler and cheaper one-page sites.
- Squarespace: polished templates and stronger ecommerce features for multi page sites.
- Wix: more templates, apps and design freedom, with a steeper learning curve.
- Webflow: full design control and CMS for designers and advanced users.
- Jimdo: a simple builder for small businesses, strong in Europe.
- Duda: built for agencies managing many client sites.
- Weebly and Umso: simple builders for small businesses and startups.
Is Strikingly worth it?
Strikingly is worth it if you want a good-looking one page site, landing page or small store online quickly, without design skills and at a low price. The free plan is enough to test it, and Pro covers most small businesses. It is less of a fit if you need extensive customization options, a large product catalog, many pages or advanced integrations; other website builders scale further. If you want help building or moving a site, the website agencies and developers on LowCodeDevs can take it on.
