Bravo Studio
No-code tool that turns Figma designs into native iOS and Android apps
Bravo Studio is a no-code app builder that turns Figma designs into native iOS and Android apps, built for designers who want to ship.
Overview
Bravo Studio review
This Bravo Studio review covers what the tool is used for, its key features, Bravo Studio pricing, how the Figma workflow and Bravo tags work, the newer Bravo MCP, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with other tools. Bravo Studio is a no code app builder for designers: you design every screen in Figma, mark elements with Bravo tags, import the Figma file into Bravo and connect the screens to data through APIs. Bravo then builds fully functional mobile apps that you preview on your phone and publish to the App Store and Google Play. The platform is made for designers who want to create a real native app from scratch without learning to code. The idea is simple: the app's visual design stays exactly as you drew it, instead of being rebuilt by developers.
What is Bravo Studio used for?
Bravo Studio is used to turn a Figma design or prototype into a real mobile app without writing code. Typical projects are content and catalog apps, booking and event apps, community and membership apps, companion apps for an existing web service, and MVPs that founders want in the app stores quickly. Designers use it to ship their own products, agencies use it to deliver native apps for clients, and product teams use it to test a design on real mobile devices with real data before a development team takes over.
What Bravo Studio offers is a way to build native apps from the design itself, so the business logic and the database stay in the backend you choose, while the builder handles screens and native features. Bravo works best when the design is already finished and the data lives in a backend that has an API. It is a front-end tool: screens, navigation, native features and data binding. The database and business logic live elsewhere, in a no code backend builder such as Xano, Backendless, Airtable, Firebase or Supabase, or in your own REST API. According to Bravo, more than 200,000 builders have used the platform (Bravo Studio).
Key features
- Figma import: import a Figma file and Bravo keeps the layout, fonts, colors and components pixel for pixel. Changes in Figma sync into the app with a new import. Bravo's docs also cover designs made in Adobe XD (Bravo Help Center).
- Bravo tags: short tags in Figma layer names tell Bravo what an element is, such as a list, a button, a text field, a menu, a container or a transition.
- Native app builds: Bravo produces signed native builds for iOS and Android, not a web view, and supports app store publishing on paid plans.
- Native features: push notifications, in-app purchases, payments with Stripe, OAuth login, camera, location, Google Analytics and QR-code scanning.
- Data binding: connect any REST API, with GET, POST and DELETE requests bound to lists, detail screens and forms.
- Bravo Vision: the companion app to preview a project on your own device before you publish.
- Bravo MCP: build and extend apps from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, with a React Native codebase you own (Bravo MCP).
Bravo Studio pricing
Bravo Studio has a free plan, one paid plan and a done-for-you service. The figures below come from the Bravo Studio pricing page as of September 2026, in USD; annual billing is available.
- Starter (free): $0 forever. Preview apps on your phone, basic API connections, up to 15 screens per app, no App Store builds.
- Solo: $22 a month. Up to 30 screens per app, unlimited native app builds, every integration (Stripe, OAuth, Firebase) and publishing to the App Store and Google Play.
- Bravo To Go: $999 one time per project. The Bravo team builds and launches the app for you, with full source code you own, launch on the App Store, Play Store or the web, and a 48-hour revision turnaround.
Bravo Studio and Bravo MCP are available on every plan. The usage metric is screens per app, not users or records. Some older reviews list $55, $99 and $222 tiers; the current pricing page no longer shows them.
The cost surprise to check is everything around Bravo. Every project needs a backend, so you pay for Xano, Firebase, Supabase or another data store as well. Publishing needs an Apple Developer account ($99 a year) and a Google Play account ($25 once). And the 30-screen cap on Solo is reached quickly by apps with many flows, so count your screens before you commit.
From Figma design to mobile app: how Bravo tags work
The Figma workflow is what sets Bravo apart. You design the app in Figma the way you design any prototype, then add Bravo tags in square brackets to layer names, for example to mark a list, a scroll container or a bottom menu. The structure matters: a page contains containers, and containers contain elements. A tag in the wrong place can make a screen disappear from the import without a clear error, so the first project takes some hours to learn (RapidDev review). Figma proficiency is a must; if you do not work in Figma yet, the learning curve is Figma first and Bravo second. Figma users, on the other hand, keep working in the tool they know, and every design update flows into the app. Reusable Figma components become reusable app components, which helps you create and manage larger apps consistently.
Publishing a native app to the App Store and Google Play
App store publishing is where Bravo Studio differs from prototyping tools. While you build, you test the app on your own device with Bravo Vision, the free preview app you download for iOS or Android; what you see there is already a real native app, not a prototype. When the app is ready, you request the app bundles from the project page: an IPA file for the Apple App Store and an Android bundle for Google Play (Bravo Help Center). You upload them with your own developer accounts, add screenshots and a description, and pass Apple's and Google's review. App updates follow the same path: change the Figma design, import it again and ship a new build to your users. Store publishing is not included on the free tier, so the Solo plan is the minimum for a published app.
Bravo MCP, Bravo 4.0 and lock in
In 2026 Bravo launched Bravo 4.0, built around Bravo MCP. Instead of the Studio editor, you connect Bravo to an AI tool such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor. The MCP server reads your tagged Figma frames, a Lovable or Pencil project or an existing Bravo Studio project, and turns it into a React Native app with a Convex backend. Unlike the classic Studio builds, this output is a codebase you own and can take to any React Native toolchain. For teams worried about lock in, that is the main change. Bravo's own FAQ says classic Studio does not export the source code and only generates app bundles, so a Studio app stays on the Bravo platform. MCP and Bravo To Go hand over the code, which makes it possible to migrate or scale the app with your own developers later.
Where Bravo Studio shines — and where it falls short
Strengths:
- Pixel-perfect native apps from a Figma design, without rebuilding the UI.
- Signed native builds for iOS and Android and direct app store publishing.
- A low entry price: the free tier for testing and $22 a month to publish.
- Backend-agnostic: connect any REST API.
- A path to owned React Native code through Bravo MCP.
Trade-offs:
- No built-in database; a separate backend is mandatory.
- Requires Figma proficiency and careful tagging.
- Screen limits per app on the free and Solo plans.
- Limited custom logic and components in classic Studio projects.
- A small company, so plan for vendor risk on long-lived apps.
How Bravo Studio compares
- FlutterFlow: a visual builder for Flutter apps with code export, better for complex logic.
- Adalo: drag-and-drop native apps with a built-in database, easier for beginners who do not use Figma.
- Draftbit: a visual React Native builder with code export for more technical makers.
- Thunkable: block-based native mobile apps, popular in education.
- Glide: fast apps on top of spreadsheets and data, with less design control.
- Bubble: full web apps and native mobile apps with a built-in database and workflows.
- Lovable: AI app building for the web, which Bravo MCP can turn into a mobile app.
- Supabase or Airtable: backends that Bravo Studio connects to.
Is Bravo Studio worth it?
Bravo Studio is worth it for designers and design-led teams who already work in Figma and want a native app in the stores without a development team. The Solo plan is among the cheapest ways to publish a native app, and the design stays exactly as drawn. For a designer with a finished Figma file, it is better value than paying developers to rebuild the user interface. As an app and its users scale, plan the backend and a path out of lock in early: Bravo MCP gives you the code, and your API keeps the data portable. Choose Bravo Studio when design quality matters most and the complexity of the logic is modest. It is a harder choice for beginners without Figma skills, for apps with heavy business logic, or for anyone who wants to manage the backend in the same platform; in those cases choose Adalo, FlutterFlow or Bubble instead. If you want help to build or publish a Bravo app, or to design the backend behind it, the Bravo Studio agencies and developers on LowCodeDevs can take it on.
