Typeform
Conversational form and survey builder with logic, AI and integrations
Typeform is an online form builder that shows one question at a time, used to collect leads, feedback and survey data.
Overview
Typeform review
This Typeform review covers what Typeform is used for, its key features, Typeform pricing and response limits, how it compares with Google Forms and other form builders, and where it shines and falls short. Typeform turns forms, surveys and quizzes into conversational forms: one question fills the screen, the next slides in, and conditional logic changes the path based on earlier answers. That design is the reason people choose it. Behind the form sit integrations with tools such as HubSpot, Google Sheets and Slack, AI features to create forms from a prompt, and add-on products for lead enrichment and research. The free plan lets you try it, but the paid plans are where most of the useful features live.
What is Typeform used for?
Typeform is used wherever the experience of filling in a form matters. Typical uses are lead generation and qualifying leads on a website, customer feedback and NPS surveys, market research, quizzes, event registration, application forms, order forms with payment questions, and recruitment. Marketing and growth teams embed engaging forms on landing pages to collect more responses than a plain contact form; HR teams use the Talent plan for screening with video questions; product teams use it to pull data from users after sign-up.
Because every form feeds form data and valuable data about customers into other apps, Typeform often sits at the start of a workflow. New responses can create a contact in a CRM, add a row to Google Sheets, post to Slack or trigger follow up emails. Typeform says more than 150,000 businesses use the platform (a vendor claim).
Key features
- Conversational forms: one question at a time, with custom branding, themes, images and video on paid plans. You can create forms from scratch, from templates or with Typeform AI, which builds AI forms from a short prompt.
- Conditional logic: branch to different questions, calculate scores and personalise later questions with earlier answers. Logic is a paid feature.
- Question types: multiple choice, ratings, opinion scales, file uploads for documents and images, payment questions via Stripe, video questions and video answers.
- Integrations: native connections to HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Sheets, Slack, Mailchimp, Airtable, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, plus webhooks and Zapier for other apps.
- Analytics: completion and drop off rates, conversion tracking and response data views on the Business plan; Smart Insights summarise detailed responses with AI.
- Growth Flow and Research Flow: add-on products for lead enrichment, contacts and automations, and AI-moderated research.
- Security: GDPR tools, EU data hosting in an EU data center, and single sign on and HIPAA support on the Enterprise plan.
Typeform pricing
Typeform charges by plan, and each plan includes a number of responses per month. The prices below come from the Typeform pricing page as of September 2026, in US dollars.
- Free plan: $0, one user, unlimited forms with basic features and Typeform branding. Typeform's help center puts the free tier at 10 responses a month, a limit the pricing page does not show (Formbricks).
- Basic plan: $39 a month, or $28 a month billed annually. 100 responses a month (up to 750 with more responses), one user, conditional logic, AI forms and webhooks.
- Plus plan: $79 a month, or $56 billed annually. 1,000 responses a month, three users, remove Typeform branding and custom subdomains.
- Business plan: $129 a month, or $91 billed annually. 10,000 responses a month, five users, drop off rates, conversion tracking and priority support.
- Talent plan: $169 a month, or $119 billed annually, for hiring, with video questions and multi-language forms.
- Growth Flow: $379 a month, or $266 billed annually, with lead enrichment, Smart Insights, contacts and automations.
- Enterprise plan: custom pricing with custom responses and seats, custom domains, VIP account management, a dedicated customer success manager and enterprise grade security.
The cost surprise to check is the response limits. The usage metric is responses per month, not forms, so a popular form can push you into a higher plan. Removing Typeform branding needs the Plus plan, and a form that uses paid features on the free plan cannot be shared until you upgrade. Formbricks notes that Typeform sometimes tests different prices, so the plans in your account may differ from the pricing page.
Free plan, Basic plan or paid plans?
Start on the free plan to test the builder and the basic features, then move up when the form goes live. The Basic plan suits one person who needs conditional logic and more responses/month; the Plus plan adds team seats and lets you remove Typeform branding; the Business plan adds advanced analytics, drop off rates and priority support for teams that run lead generation at scale. The Growth plans (Growth Flow) add automated lead scoring, lead enrichment and a contacts database for customer data, and Research Flow adds AI-moderated research for deeper insights. Check the pricing structure against how many form responses you expect before you commit.
Typeform vs Google Forms
Google Forms is free, with no response limits, and saves answers straight to Google Sheets. It suits internal surveys, quizzes and simple tasks to collect responses. Typeform costs money but gives a more polished, branded experience, stronger logic, payment questions and deeper integrations with marketing tools. For lead generation, customer engagement and order forms for an online store, where design affects completion, Typeform usually converts better; for internal or high-volume forms, the free tool is the cheaper choice.
Typeform vs Jotform and Tally
Jotform offers more question types, PDF generation and higher response limits for the price, but its classic forms show many questions on one page. Tally is the closest match to Typeform's look: it has a generous free plan with unlimited responses and one-question-at-a-time forms, and it is the usual answer when people ask for a free or cheaper alternative to Typeform. Typeform keeps the edge on templates, video questions and its Growth Flow add-ons.
Where Typeform shines — and where it falls short
Strengths:
- Polished, conversational forms that people like to complete.
- Strong conditional logic, scoring and personalisation.
- Wide range of integrations, from HubSpot to Google Sheets.
- AI forms and templates to start fast.
Trade-offs:
- Response limits on every plan; the free tier is small.
- Removing Typeform branding needs the Plus plan.
- Per-plan pricing gets expensive at high response volumes.
- One question at a time is slower for long, complex surveys.
How Typeform compares
- Tally: similar conversational forms with a generous free plan.
- Google Forms: free, unlimited responses, basic design.
- Microsoft Forms: free forms inside Microsoft 365.
- Cognito Forms: calculations, payments and repeating sections.
- Formstack: enterprise forms with document generation and e-signatures.
- involve.me: funnels, quizzes and calculators.
- Outgrow: interactive calculators and quizzes for marketing.
Is Typeform worth it?
Typeform is worth it when forms face customers and completion rates matter: lead generation, onboarding surveys, quizzes and application forms. The paid plans unlock the logic, branding and integrations that make it useful, and the Business plan adds the analytics most teams want. It is less worth it for internal forms, very high response volumes or tight budgets, where Google Forms or Tally cover the basic features for free.
