Overview

Outgrow review

This Outgrow review covers what the tool is used for, its key features, Outgrow pricing, where it shines and falls short, and how it compares with the alternatives. Outgrow is an interactive content platform with a drag-and-drop builder that replaces static lead capture forms: instead of a static form, visitors answer questions, see a personalized result and leave their details to get it. Marketers use it to generate leads, qualify leads before a sales call and collect user responses for segmentation. You create every content piece from templates in a visual editor, host it on an Outgrow subdomain or embed it on your own page, and integrate it with your CRM or email tool. For interactive content creation without developers, it is one of the most complete tools, and the reason many teams look for an Outgrow alternative is price, not features.

What is Outgrow used for?

Outgrow is used for lead generation with interactive content. Typical examples are an ROI calculator for a SaaS product, a pricing or savings calculator for a service business, a personality or product quiz for an online store, a readiness assessment for B2B buyers, and polls or giveaways for social campaigns. Each content piece ends with a lead form or survey question, so the lead data arrives together with the answers, which helps the sales team see what a prospect needs before the first call.

It suits B2B marketers and small businesses in sectors such as SaaS, finance and healthcare, where a calculator or assessment answers a real buying question. Agencies build interactive quizzes and calculators for clients, and in-house marketing teams use them on landing pages and in email campaigns. Small businesses mostly start with one of the templates for online quizzes or calculators on a key page; mid-market and enterprise teams run dozens of content pieces across campaigns and connect them to marketing automation.

Key features

  • Nine content types: outcome quizzes, assessments, polls, calculators, eCommerce recommendations, chatbots, forms and surveys, giveaways and landing pages, depending on the plan.
  • Templates and layouts: every content type starts from templates, with layouts such as card style, one column, two column and chatbot style. You change colors, fonts and images to match your brand, and the builder offers several question types per template. Reviews cite a library of more than 1,000 templates.
  • Formulas and logic: math formulas with basic and advanced operators, if-else and nested if statements, logic jumps between questions, outcome mapping and conditional calls to action. This is what makes an ROI calculator or a quiz calculator possible without code.
  • Charts and personalized results: result pages can show bar, pie, radar and line charts or tables built from the user's answers.
  • Analytics and tracking: lead data, user responses, results and traffic info, with data export and segmentation. You can add Facebook pixel and Google Analytics tracking codes; advanced analytics sit on the higher plans.
  • Integrations: native integrations with HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign, plus 1,000+ tools through Zapier. Higher plans add webhooks and send answers and results, not only the lead form.
  • Security: Outgrow says it is SOC 2 Type II certified.

Outgrow pricing: free plan, paid plans and the small business incentive

Outgrow prices plans by the number of leads per year, meaning submissions of the lead generation form. The figures below come from the Outgrow pricing page as of September 2026, with annual billing first and monthly billing second.

  • Free Forms/Surveys: $0. Forms and surveys only, 1,200 leads a year (100 a month), one user.
  • Freelancer Limited: $14 a month billed annually, $22 monthly. Five content types (quiz, assessment, poll, calculator, form), 3,000 leads a year, one user, standard integrations, Outgrow branding stays on.
  • Freelancer Pro: $25 billed annually, $45 monthly. Seven content types including eCommerce recommendations and giveaways, 12,000 leads a year.
  • Essentials: $95 billed annually, $115 monthly. All content types including chatbots and landing pages, 90,000 leads a year, three users.
  • Business: $600 billed annually, $720 monthly. 600,000 leads a year, ten users, custom domain, full white label and priority support.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing with SSO, API access, an account manager and native Marketo and Eloqua integrations.

New companies and small businesses can apply for Startup plans at $35 and $55 a month billed annually. A 7-day free trial needs no credit card. The small business incentive is an offer for smaller customers that unlocks features such as advanced integrations, charts and custom branding on the Freelancer and Essentials plans.

The cost surprise to check is what the lower tiers leave out. On Freelancer and Essentials, advanced integrations, full logic jumps, charts, custom branding and a custom domain are tied to the "small business incentive" or only arrive on the Business plan, and the step from Essentials to Business is about six times the price. Count the leads you expect per year as well: the plan limit is on form submissions, not on visitors.

Free version, free trial and unlimited content pieces

The free version of Outgrow is a form and survey builder: you get forms, surveys and feedback collection, but no quiz calculator, assessment or chatbot. The lower paid plans cap the number of content pieces you can build and hold back advanced features such as charts, custom branding and logic jumps unless you qualify for the small business incentive. Essentials and Business give you unlimited content pieces, all content types and more users per account. If you plan several campaigns, count content pieces and users per account as carefully as leads, and use the 7-day free trial to build one real quiz calculator before you pay.

Creating quizzes, a quiz calculator or an ROI calculator

Pick a content type and a template, then write your questions and answer options. For a calculator, assign a value to each answer and build the formula that turns them into a result, such as monthly savings or payback time. For a quiz, map each answer to an outcome with outcome mapping and write a result page for every outcome. Add the lead form before or after the result, connect it to your CRM or email list, and publish on the Outgrow subdomain or embed the content piece on your page. The builder has a user friendly interface for simple quizzes, and templates cover common cases such as a savings calculator or a product quiz. Complex math formulas, if-else rules and logic jumps take some practice, so start from a template and change one thing at a time.

Lead data, Google Analytics and integrations

Every submission stores the lead data, the user responses and the result in your Outgrow account, where you can segment and export the data. For reporting you add Google Analytics and Facebook pixel codes to each content piece, while advanced analytics come with the higher plans. To integrate with the rest of your lead gen stack, use the native integrations with HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign or connect other tools through Zapier. On plans with advanced integrations, each segment of users can go to its own email list, so customers who picked a certain answer in a survey or quiz get a matching follow-up.

Where Outgrow shines — and where it falls short

Strengths:

  • Calculators and formulas that most form builders cannot match.
  • Many interactive content types in one tool, all built without code.
  • Lead data plus user responses in one record, ready to qualify leads.
  • Native integrations and 1,000+ more through Zapier, so customers' answers reach the CRM with the lead.

Trade-offs:

  • The free plan covers forms and surveys only; quizzes and calculators need a paid plan.
  • Advanced features, white label and custom branding sit on higher tiers.
  • A large price jump from Essentials to Business.
  • A learning curve for advanced logic and math formulas.
  • Basic templates can look plain until you customize them.

How Outgrow compares

Each Outgrow alternative below trades some of Outgrow's calculators and interactive experiences for a lower price or a different focus.

  • involve.me: funnels, quizzes, calculators and payment forms in one builder, with 350+ templates and paid plans from $19 a month billed annually (figures from involve.me and Formidable Forms).
  • Typeform: conversational forms and surveys that show one question at a time, lighter on calculators.
  • Tally: a simple form builder with a generous free version, for forms rather than calculators.
  • Octane AI: interactive quizzes and product recommendations built for Shopify stores.
  • Cognito Forms: calculation-heavy business forms with payments.
  • Leadpages: landing pages first, with forms and pop-ups.

Is Outgrow worth it?

Outgrow is worth it for marketers who want calculators, assessments and quizzes that turn visitors into qualified leads, and who will use the formulas and integrations. The paid plans pay off when one ROI calculator or product quiz brings in a steady flow of leads. It is harder to justify when you only need simple forms, when a small budget has to cover many content pieces, or when you need white label and a custom domain but cannot reach the Business plan. Which is the best Outgrow alternative depends on whether you need calculators or only forms and surveys. For help building interactive content, low-code agencies and developers on LowCodeDevs can take it on.
